Final week Array reported that LA-based Cecchi Gori Movies is trying to move a long-stalled biopic approaching Enzo Ferrari back on track. What should it be approaching and who should be in it?
Array says its minus of a racing film and additional like a Godfather-type story that happens to have racing in it. If this movie was approaching anyone other than Enzo Ferrari, I would think that idea was stupid, other than Ferraris life was so extensive of drama and intrigue that this premise in point of fact sounds like a cool idea.
And lets face it: if Rush proved whatever thing, its that U.S. audiences dont require to sit around and watch a bunch of racing, sadly.
The base for the film is apparently Brock Yates 1991 book Enzo Ferrari: The Man, the Cars, the Races. A script has been around for years and Al Pacino was attached to star as Il Commendatore, other than the film never happened.
So lets give these producers several thoughts. What should be included in an Enzo Ferrari biopic? The early postwar years of racing? How approaching the Le Mans battles of the 1960s?
And conceivably for the most part prominently, who should star in it? I may well see Pacino as Ferrari. Thats a good inception.
